Carne Griffiths is an artist who has not only collaborated with iconic British photographer, Rankin for the 2nd edition of the popular Hunger magazine, but has had numerous shows in the UK where he is based and as far as New Orleans. If his CV seems eclectic, so is his choice of mediums. Whilst he uses traditional materials such as ink and graphite, he also adopts tea, brandy and vodka as additional substances for creating his work. Highly-skilled in the art of drawing, Griffiths focuses on the manipulation of the drawn line, exploring human, geometric and floral forms which then become abstracted in response to his daily experiences.
What is translated on to paper is often dream-like, taking inspiration from his subconsciousness and the inner mind, resulting in abstract lines and an invitation for the viewer to lap up the escapism the works evoke.
