Photographer Jessica van der Weert injects a combination of bold colour and creative composition with her subject matter, offering the viewer a stylish yet alternative perspective on contemporary Western culture and its many icons. At once, uplifting and thought-provoking, her work immortalises the pop culture obsessions we all have. Van der Weert studied Photography at the Institute of Bournemouth. Her work has been displayed in galleries, on billboards, in magazines and online throughout the UK.
Bringing together her twin passions of dance music and photography, Jessica’s portraits of music’s most-loved DJs stems from an exhibition, ‘Flipside’ held in January 2015 with Beautiful Crime and Eddie Lock. The works offered viewers a fantastic insight in to the quirky lives of the DJs we know and love.
