Beautiful Crime plays a very active role in the East London community in a variety of ways, including projects with schools in the area (such as Wapping High School in Whitechapel) and partnerships with local businesses.
We also participate in projects with charities, in particular with the Anderson Foundation which is raising funds to build a school for autistic children in partnership with National Autistic Society. As their official art parter, we have raised £250,000 to date in the last 5 years we have worked with them.
In house, we have set up a BC Artists programme that encourages meetings with our artists to discuss ways in which they can develop their art for a sustainable career. We are also active in promoting any charity project our artists work in or outside of Beautiful Crime (above is project BC artist Saroj Patel did via her We Are Artists initiative with school children in a village in Goa).
Outside of the local scene, we have participated in charity projects abroad with All Hands Volunteers in Nepal, helping to rebuild a primary school after the 2015 earthquake.
