Pascal Gerard Barker belongs to the currently topical sector of photographers using his smartphone and various apps to create stunning limited edition prints. He joins a number of artists exploring this new ground in photography, from the well-known Richard Prince who sold Instagram images via Gagosian for $100,000 a print, to photographers selling their work via Instagram for $100 each. Pascal has an incredible eye for composition and atmosphere, with all his works encouraging the viewer to look just a little longer.

His inspiration comes from cityscapes and trips abroad to the everyday visuals you might see or walk past, such as a motorbike in the street or washing machines in a launderette.

Pascal’s photography is popular amongst UK buyers, particularly his London inspired pieces, and his work has been exhibited in group shows and one solo show at the Hotel Café Royal to date. He was also part of a panel on a photography debate held about Instagram and digital photography, alongside representatives from Saatchi Art & Music Magazine, Getty Images, Royal Society of Arts and curator Cedar Lewisohn.
