Beautiful Crime is active in both its charity and community work, both locally an abroad, in a variety of ways. This has included projects with schools in the East London (such as Wapping High School in Whitechapel) as well as partnerships with local businesses.
We also create art projects that work with charities, such as our Man and Mortar project with Tim Sheif, World Champion free runner and Red Bull free runner, Jason Paul, whereby a percentage of all print sales went and continue to go to Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall charity.
In house, we have set up a BC Artists programme that encourages meetings with our artists to discuss ways in which they can develop their art for a sustainable career. We are also active in promoting any charity project our artists work in or outside of Beautiful Crime (above is project BC artist Saroj Patel did via her We Are Artists initiative with school children in a village in Goa).
Outside of the local scene, our staff have participated in charity projects abroad with All Hands Volunteers in Nepal, helping to rebuild a primary school after the 2015 earthquake.
